How to make a Felt Brooch

This is a brooch tutorial made using felt with no sewing required.

It is easy and fun to make and is suitable for kids craft project too!

The step by step instructions will be written below the pictures, just match up the numbers to understand. You can also enlarge an image by clicking on it, have fun!

Materials :

1. Stamps

2. Metal Finding for Brooch

3. Fabric Ink Pad

4. Fabric Glue / Super Glue (make sure they dries transparent!)

5. A strip of felt (5cm x 15cm)

6. A strip of ribbon of your choice (10cm long)

7. Any plain cotton or hard felt. (cut it according to your stamp size)

8. Two felt pieces that is cut a little larger than your stamp.

9. Another piece of felt that is larger than (8) felt.

1. Stamp on your handcarved / premade stamps onto the piece of cotton / hard felt. Iron on to let the ink stay. Put aside.
2. Take one piece of the (8) felt and superglue it onto the (9) felt.

3. Take the stamped cotton and superglue it onto the (8) and (9) felt. Put aside.

4. Take the long strip of felt and apply superglue on one long end of the strip.

5. Fold long strip into half, sticking the both long ends together.

6. Cut along the folded line of the long strip of felt, make sure you don't cut off the strip. It should look like Image 6.

7. Apply superglue onto the long end of the strip where you didn't cut.

8. Now take your felt piece and stick it along the circle, adjust so that it looks even from the front.

9. This is how your brooch should look like from the back. Put aside.

10. Take your strip of ribbon, get the center line and dab a little glue on.

11. Fold your ribbon into half, adjust so you get a desired 'V' shape.

12 & 13. Dab some glue on the center of the 'V' shape ribbon again, now making sure it is at the lower center of the brooch, stick on.

14. Superglue on the other piece of (8) felt at the back of brooch and on top of the ribbon.

15. Superglue on the metal finding for brooch in the center of the back brooch and you're done!
